Accedian Collaborates With Cyan To Address Service Automation And Network Optimization Challenges in Service Provider Networks
17 Sep 2013 / Petaluma, CA
Furthering their partnership, Accedian Networks, the leader in Performance Assured Networking™ solutions, and Cyan (NYSE: CYNI), a leading provider of software-defined networking (SDN) and packet-optical solutions for network operators, today announced that they will deliver a comprehensive solutions demonstration to showcase the power of performance assured networks and flow-through network and service management as it relates to a multi-vendor environment during the upcoming COMPTEL event.
As end-user customers demand more and more reliable, high capacity services for applications such as mobile backhaul, wholesale transport and business Ethernet, there is a real need to deliver best-in-class solutions which can measure service performance, deliver precise (SLA Driven) performance information and report on the overall health of the network to support the carriers’ business operations.
Providing rich service definition, orchestration, and monitoring solutions is critical to many carrier environments today. Working together, the combined solution of Accedian’s MetroNODE LT™ and Cyan’s Blue Planet enables service providers to automate the following:
- Service provisioning
- Service activation testing with RFC 2544 and Y.1564
- Continuous service performance monitoring with Y.1731 for Layer 2 and RFC 5357 TWAMP for Layer 3 based services.
"We are very excited to be working with Cyan to deliver unique and innovative solutions to our service provider customers," said Patrick Ostiguy, President and CEO of Accedian Networks. "Many of our service provider customers are already greatly benefiting from provisioning our MetroNODE LT™ with the Cyan Blue Planet SDN Platform. This collaboration helps customers to automate service creation, accelerate the test and turn-up process to speed up time-to-revenue, deliver upon SLA driven services, and reduce operational costs. We look forward to highlighting our joint solutions with Cyan during COMPTEL."
As network performance and speed of provisioning continues to be key differentiators for operators, performance monitoring is essential to delivering SLA guarantees and providing quick insight into the overall health of network services. This allows service providers to have more proactive control and visibility over their network. The end-result is to deliver a better experience to all customers.
"One of the key value propositions of the Cyan Blue Planet SDN Platform is its ability to manage, orchestrate, and automate multivendor environments. As one of our Blue Orbit Ecosystem partners, Accedian and their products enable us to deliver an end-to-end Ethernet services and wireless backhaul offering to the service provider community," said Joe Cumello, CMO of Cyan. "During COMPTEL we will be able to showcase the strength of the Blue Planet solution in designing, creating, monitoring and orchestrating services on the MetroNODE LT. These two solutions have a proven track record of delivering what carriers need to improve operational efficiencies, manage SLAs, and exceed their customers’ expectations."
