Ciena to Demonstrate Blue Planet Analytics at UTC Telecom and Technology 2017

Ciena (NYSE: CIEN) will showcase its Blue Planet Analytics software at the UTC Telecom and Technology event taking place May 8-12 in Charlotte. At a time when many utilities are either seeking to commence, or are already in the midst of, network modernization strategies to move from legacy SONET toward packet optical architectures, there is a growing need to enhance network health and visibility to ensure a seamless transition. Ciena’s Blue Planet Analytics and Network Health Predictor (NHP) application provides utility companies with proactive network assurance of legacy networks by anticipating failures before they occur and taking action before they become larger issues.

Ciena executives will also speak about how SDN and analytics assist utility companies in gaining greater network visibility and efficiency.

Demonstration (Booth #531):

• Blue Planet Analytics – This demonstration will illustrate how gathering massive amounts of data from a network can be turned into actionable decisions using machine learning and big data analytics. Utilities can now gain incredible insights into their network assets to ensure effective and improved proactive and reactive network maintenance. This results in a far more resilient pool of network assets, especially at a time when service disruption must be prevented.
